"Pressure fluctuations in air produce a sound
wave"- Workplace noise is assessed in accordance with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. Surveys of all sizes are undertaken using a precision integrating Sound Level Meter. Comprehensive reports are written detailing employee exposure, results are discussed and the client is advised on noise reduction measures.

- Assessment of hearing protection, noise mapping and octave band analysis are also undertaken as required.

- Environmental noise surveys are undertaken in accordance with BS4142, “Method for rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential and industrial areas”, where applicable. Other standards are often applied including Planning Policy Guidance 24: Planning and Noise (PPG24), World Health Organisation Guidelines for Community Noise 1999 and Minerals Planning Guidance 11 (MPG11).

- Monitoring undertaken using a precision integrating sound level
meter, this complies with the IEC 61672 Type 1 Standard. Personal
dosimetry readings also taken on selected personnel using small,
light-weight dose badges, these comply with the Type 2 Standard.
