Matthew has a diverse background balancing relevant qualifications with ten year’s experience in health, safety and environmental work. He holds an Environmental Technology BSc(Hons) degree from the University of Sunderland and an Occupational Hygiene MSc from the University of Aberdeen.

Upon completion of the first degree he worked as an Environmental Pollution Officer for three years at Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. While working here he gained the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and is currently an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA). 

He recently worked for DuPont for two years as an occupational hygiene consultant and also spent one year working as a consultant for a large environmental consultancy during which time he gained Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Risk Assessment and IOA Management of Hand Arm Vibration qualifications.
